A Brave American Needs Our Help

I just found out some troubling news from one of my good friends in the Marine Corps, Alan Speakes. One of our fellow Marines has gone through a horrible ordeal after being injured in combat in Iraq. Here is Alan’s message:

In my last combat deployment in 2007, a Marine in my Squad named Lance Corporal John Doodey was shot multiple times in his leg while engaged in a vicious firefight with members of Al Qaida. His life was saved only through the heroic action of Fellow MARINES, who exposed themselves to enemy fire to get him to safety. Doodey was medivaced and shipped home for recovery.

However, complications arose during his rehabilitation, and he developed anoxic brain damage through his infections. This means that his brain had insufficient oxygen traveling to it, causing damage.

Americans as a whole give more to charity than any other people on the planet. There are literally tens of thousands of wholesome and worthwhile causes that would love to take your money. However, keep in mind that most of these charities have extensive administration, advertisement, and other bureaucratic expenses that much of their received donations go towards. Any money given to LCpl Doodey goes straight to him.

Screw your politics, WMD’s, and both the Bush and Obama administrations. This is for a struggling young man, who joined the military during a time of war. Like almost every Marine I have ever known, he wanted to serve his country in the best way he knew how: by fighting for it. He was grievously injured and is constantly struggling through his rehabilitation. Any money received will go towards his quality of living. Hell, he might just buy a beer with it.

Think about it.

——–End of Alan’s Message——–

Please open your hearts to this incredible man. He was a great guy to be around and he was always there for his friends. Thank you for your support and donations.

Listen up Scavenger Hunt Particpants!

I just received an email from the Watershed Nature Center about students participating in a scavenger hunt and trespassing in areas that are fenced off. Let me stress again, the rules clearly state that trespassing and climbing over things are not required to find ANY picture locations. Stay out of the construction area. If you’re trespassing that’s a clear cut sign that you are in the WRONG PLACE. Good luck on the rest of the hunt and don’t do anything unsafe.

Have a good one!

Don't just add another notch, take it off!

What the hell is going on with fast food?

I’m all for cute girls and funny commercials but Burger King has taken things too far. Parodying “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mixalot for a KID’S MEAL COMMERCIAL IS A DISGRACE! Kids who eat kid’s meals should be worried about going out and riding bikes and playing tag with their friends. They shouldn’t be worried about girls shaking a square ass and hearing mention of implants. Children don’t need to know what implants are. This commercial is completely insane and I hope they get sued for this crap.

And how about this ad?

Hot chicks eat huge hamburgers huh? Not likely. This girl purged after filming, I’m sure. Have fast food companies run out of ways to market their horrible food? Their resorting to the of adage “Sex sells.” It doesn’t matter who the sexy food gets sold to as long as it gets sold. Despicable.

Do you agree? If you do email these companies and tell them how much of a disgrace they’re commercials are.

Hardees: pr@ckr.com
Burger King: They don’t have an email. (WTF?) But their Corporate phone number is 305-378-3000.

Take a stand, if not for you, the young children who should be allowed to stay young.
