Halloween Parade and Party
Trick or Treating times have been announced in Edwardsville and Glen Carbon for local youngsters. In Edwardsville, 12pm-9pm on Friday (10/30) and Saturday (10/31). In Glen Carbon, 5pm-9pm on Friday and Saturday.
The annual Halloween parade put on by the Ed-Glen Chamber of Commerce will kick off on Saturday at 6:30pm in downtown Edwardsville. The parade route will be the same as in past years, starting at Lincoln Middle School and making a right on St. Louis St. and a left on Main St. The City expects thousands of spectators to show up for the event, which boasts a 90+ year longevity. Temperatures are expected to be in the 40′s with a high for the day of 54.
Halloween after party will be at St. Boniface church on the corner of Buchanan and Vandalia St. For details visit the St. Boniface website

SIUE Harvest Run 5K
The Inaugural SIUE Harvest Run 5k will take place November 8, 2009 at 9:30am on the campus of SIUE in Edwardsville, IL.
The race is organized by Interim Head Cross-Country Coach Eileen McAllister and Assistant Coach and former student-athlete Kyle Cameron. The wooded-area and grassy fields of the cross-country course are located near the intersection of New Poag Rd. and North University Drive, approximately a 30 minute drive from St. Louis. Runners and walkers will have to navigate the 3.1 mile course over some rolling hills that follow the tree line trail. Course route and mile markers will be indicated on race day and mile-splits will be announced.
“We hope the race will bring the campus and the community together in a fun and positive way,” says Cameron.
All proceeds from the race will benefit the SIUE Track & Field and Cross-Country programs.
